The Story القصة
In the wake of the Beirut port explosion, an imaginary judicial reform brings together a jury of twelve ordinary Lebanese citizens. They must decide the fate of a young Syrian refugee accused of murdering a social activist who had been helping blast victims.
عقب تفجير مرفأ بيروت، يجمع إصلاح قضائي متخيّل هيئة محلفين من اثني عشر مواطناً لبنانياً عادياً. عليهم أن يقرروا مصير لاجئ سوري شاب متهم بقتل ناشطة اجتماعية كانت تساعد متضرري التفجير.
Locked in a deteriorating room inside the national electricity building, personal prejudices, sectarian tensions, and collective trauma surface as each juror confronts not just the case, but themselves. One dissenting vote forces the group to examine the evidence, and their own conscience.
